With over 50 years of growth and development, we are proud of the Coli we have today.
This success is owed to the entrepreneurial vision and determination of our founder, Mr. Herbert Lösing, as well as the dedication and commitment of our driven team. In 2024, we operate globally with over 80 employees, delivering a wide range of logistical solutions. Throughout the years, our unwavering commitment to providing personal attention to you and your projects has remained constant. Below, you can read about where this has taken us.
The cornerstone was laid in 1974 with the founding of the company in Hamburg and Bremen by Mr. Herbert Lösing. At that time we started as a Liner Agency under the name Contimar Linienagentur for a carrier, handling break bulk cargo to the Eastern Mediterranean. Amidst the 1980s oil crisis and globalization, we shifted from liner agency services to a global break bulk cargo ship brokerage, rebranding as COLI Schiffahrt & Transport. In 1977 and 1980 we opened offices in Antwerp, Belgium and Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
In 1987 CPC Consolidated Pool Carriers GmbH was founded as a daughter company to provide exclusive carrier services between Asia and Europe. In 1997 we opened our first affiliated office in the Far Eastern market, named CPC Consolidated Pool Carriers (Asia) Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan. At that time CPC was a joint-venture-partner of the Japanese flag carrier Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Tokyo as Intra-Asia-Service.
In 2007 we entered the American market by founding CPC Consolidated Project Carriers LLC in Houston, and we also opened an affiliated sales office in Singapore named CPC Consolidated Project Carriers Ltd. In 2009 CBC Consolidated Bulk Carriers GmbH was founded in Bremen, acting as a carrier specializing in the logistics of cargoes for the local steel and wind power industry. The growth continues with CPC COLI PROJECT CARGO KOREA Ltd., starting operations in 2013, offices in Denmark and CPC Istanbul, Türkiye opened in 2014, and the establishment of COLI Shipping & Transport do Brasil in 2015.
2017 brings us back to Hamburg with the foundation of Coli Logistics GmbH for sea transportation and overall logistics of various industrial project cargoes. In 2018 Coli Bulk Carriers was established in Hamburg and Antwerp as a dry bulk freight operator. In 2019 CBC Consolidated Bulk Carriers GmbH was renamed to GPC Global Project Carrier GmbH and Coli Shipping DMCC in Dubai has been opened.
The most recent major milestone is the shift of daily management in 2024 from founder Mr. Herbert Lösing to Mr Felix Peinemann and Mr Alain Akavi.
